Problem

Since 2019, the world has been experiencing a new way of working and living — much of it in isolation. People were relocating, but unable to make new friends in person due to global health advisories. We wanted to create a way for women to easily connect with each other, seek mentorship, collaborate, and share resources. Bumble Bff and LinkedIn provided a similar offering, but search results on both platforms were often wide ranging and the scant amount of filters provided did not aid users in narrowing the search to their ideal criteria.

Personas

We created a few personas to help guide our product decisions.

1. A female professional that has moved to a new city and wants to connect with other women in her area.

2. A young female professional that is just getting started in her career and wants to connect with potential mentors in her industry.

3. A female professional that wants to connect with other women in her industry.

Prototype & Interfaces

We developed a mobile application that would match women based on the search criteria of location, industry, and/or interests. Additional features include the ability to save/favorite profiles, edit your own profile, and chat. Profile details included the user’s name, age, location, industry, interests, favorite music artists, education, work experience, selected photos, and their responses to three fun fact prompts.
